Limerick design company wins award

BOSSES at a Limerick design agency are celebrating after picking up a prestigious international branding and design award.

Designers Ink, based in King's Island, has been named the only Irish award winners at a branding awards ceremony held by American design magazine HOW.

The magazine judges designs from all around the world on an annual basis, and it was thanks to Designers Ink's work with Missy Gray Interior Design – based in Ennis – that they won.

Niamh Browne, Designers Ink's creative director said: "It is a real achievement for us. The awards are international so the standard is exceptionally high. Other winners were from countries such as Australia, Hong Kong, and, obviously, the US, so it was great to see the Irish flag been flown by ourselves."

Previously, Designers Ink won an award for the rebranding of Munster Rugby, now recognised worldwide. It also received a national award in 2007 for the branding of Skylift, a Limerick-based powered access company.

Designers Ink is also responsible for the branding of the revamped Thomond Park, and other clients include RTE Lyric FM, which like themselves, celebrated ten years in business.

To celebrate their decade in business, the group - which now specialises in web design, development, search engine optimisation, content management systems and online marketing - have moved to new offices in the King's Island area of the city.

"We can't believe that we are celebrating a decade in business this year - ten years of creativity! With two national awards and one international award and our new offices, we feel we have achieved a lot in this short space of time," said Paul McMahon, business development director for the company.
