ENERGY firm Pinergy has announced 30 new sales representative jobs in Limerick.
The news came as the Tipperary and Dublin-based firm outlined plans for 46 new positions in total.
The jobs have been announced in association with sales management company GSM, and come as Pinergy starts a big new campaign in Limerick to get households to make savings by taking control of their electricity costs.
Pinergy is an Irish-owned, pay as you go energy company that allows consumers to manage their own bills and make real savings.
Among the firm’s investors is Munster rugby legend Paul O’Connell.
“As a proud Limerick man, I am delighted to announce these new jobs, which are a very positive development for Limerick’s economy.
“I am also happy to be part of the Pinergy project and am confident that our campaign in Limerick will deliver great savings and real choice to households across the county and city,” he said.
Sixteen of the 46 jobs will be created at offices in Tipperary Town, with the other 30 jobs for mobile sales reps across County Limerick.
Environment Minister Alan Kelly said: “This is a hugely welcome boost and will have a hugely positive impact on the local economy and will be greatly appreciated by the local business community. I look forward to working with these companies in hopefully creating more employment locally as their business expands.”
