Limerick schools secure ‘Summer Works’ funding

SEVENTEEN schools across Limerick have been allocated funding under the Department of Education and Skills’ Summer Works Scheme.

The funding will allow schools to carry out small and medium scale building works across three categories of projects - Gas, Electrical & Mechanical.

Projects have been approved at 386 primary and secondary schools across the country.

“Today’s announcement is part of this Government’s continued commitment to improve facilities in schools throughout the country. These works will be carried out in schools over the summer months, when the pupils are on holidays, so the disruption to schooling will be kept to a minimum,” said the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn as he announced details of the €36m scheme.

The Limerick Schools which have been approved for funding are Fedamore NS, Ballylanders NS, Scoil Padraig Naofa B, Scoil Iosagain, Athlacca NS, Our Lady Queen of Peace School, Scoil Tobar Padraig, Scoil Cnoc Loinge B, Scoil Aine Naofa, Scoil Mhuire, Askeaton Senior NS, S N Ma Rua, Scoil Ide, SN Beal Atha Grean, Limerick School Project, St Josephs, Ardscoil Ris.
