THE London based company run by Limerick property investor Aidan Brooks has spent $70m buying the building that houses one of New York’s most expensive diamond dealers.

Tribeca Holdings has acquired 710 Madison Avenue in Manhattan which houses Graff Diamonds.

The luxury jewellery store is owned by billionaire Laurence Graff.

His clients include Madonna and Donald Trump.

This latest deal follows the purchase of buildings 431-451 Oxford Street, London for €160 million late last year.

In that deal Tribeca agreed to pay a reported €160m for the property, which consists of 50% of the frontage of Selfridges, Britain’s second-biggest department store after Harrods. It also included nine retail stores as well as offices and apartments.

The purchase was reputed to be the second largest mixed use property deal involving London’s West End to take place last year.

Tribeca also purchased the Apple Store in Boston for $30 million earlier in 2013.

Mr Brooks moved his operation from Limerick to Berkeley Square in London’s Mayfair in 2010.
