The sofa manufacturer and retailer is to open at the Ballysimon Road on Saturday, December 12 next.

To mark the occasion, there will be festive family entertainment and free refreshments.

Leanne will be joined by her co-stars from the pantomime, including Myles Breen, Richard Lynch and George McMahon, from midday to pose for selfies, and sign a few autographs, while the Unity Gospel Choir will provide a soundtrack to the day.

The opening of DFS’s sixth store on the island of Ireland has created ten local jobs in the run-up to Christmas.

Earlier this year, Adare woman Helen Normoyle, the firm’s chief marketing officer, said she is proud to bring DFS to her hometown.

She promised the new store at the Ballysimon Road “will provide a selection of the largest range of sofas in Munster, chosen to suit all styles and budgets.”

DFS currently operates from three locations in the Republic of Ireland - Blanchardstown and Carrickmines in Dublin plus Cork.

In the North, it has stores in Belfast and Derry.
