A NUMBER OF full-time and part-time jobs have been lost in Limerick following the closure of the popular Scotts bar near Mary Immaculate College.

A notice was posted on the door of the pub on Court brack Avenue over the weekend, stating: “Scotts bar has ceased trading as of the 7th of June 2015.”

There was no answer from the pub when contacted by the Limerick Leader at the time of going to print, and its Facebook page also did not disclose any reasons for its closure in recent days. The last time their social networking profile was updated was on April 8 last.

Its most recent abridged accounts, submitted for the year ending 2013, showed losses of over €259,000.
