AFTER a year-long delay, the €10m redevelopment of Ardscoil Ris on the North Circular Road in Limerick is set to proceed, after the initial contractor went into receivership half-way through the project.

Construction has now resumed on the site, after a new contract was signed with L&M Keating Ltd for its completion.

The work is due for completion next summer and will coincide with the celebrations planned to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Ardscoil Rís in Limerick by the Christian Brothers.

The previous contractor Cordil Construction Ltd. went into receivership in May 2009 “leaving the school to operate on a building site since that date”, the school said.

The company was also due to begin the first stage of building works in Moyross under the Regeneration plan.

The school is also celebrating the success of three of its graduates - Kevin McNamara, Ronan Keane and David Hogan - who were awarded entrance scholarships to University College Dublin.

Kevin is currently studying veterinary, Ronan is studying radiography and David is studying actuarial studies.
