AN INDUSTRIAL investment site in Limerick sold for €260,000 yesterday - €90,00 above its reserve at auction, writes Anne Sheridan.

The latest Allsop Space property auction in Dublin saw 262 lots of property go under the hammer at the RDS in Dublin yesterday.

Some nine Limerick properties were up for sale, including lot number 37, two warehouse units in Galvone business park on the Childers Road. It was put up for sale with a reserve of between €170,000 to €200,000, but sold for €260,000. The units, sold as one lot, have a current rent of €33,600 per annum. However, amongst the Limerick lots were a number of “investment” opportunities that were withdrawn or were unsold at the time of going to print.

A mid-terrace three-bedroom, two-storey house on Joseph Street in the city - which had a reserve of €110,000, failed to sell as the bids fell some way short, reaching just €90,000.

No 19 Hartstonge Street, a mid-terrace five bedroom house, went up for sale for €63,000 but sold for €100,000. The property features a reception room, dining room, kitchen, five bedrooms, and a main bathroom. An end of terrrace, two-storey four bedroom house on Clare Street/Dublin Road had a reserve of €100,000, but bids reached €95,000. The auction was ongoing at the time of going to print.
