DESPITE world-wide reports suggesting otherwise, the world’s most talked about couple, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, did pay their bill for their stay at Limerick’s Castle Oliver.
Reports began to surface online on Sunday night that the newlyweds, known collectively as ‘Kimye’, had refused to pay their €15,000 bill after they cut their stay short as they felt “the castle was too big and that the cellphone reception was dismal”.
RadarOnline.com, an American entertainment and gossip website, quoted an insider as saying: “Everyone is shocked to say the least. The castle is out a fortune on their honeymoon. It is absolutely awful.”
However, when contacted by the Limerick Leader this Monday, the proprietor of Castle Oliver, Emma Cormack, said she “hadn’t a clue” where the information came from.
“I really don’t know what is going on. I got a phone call from somebody the other day asking about it and I said ‘I don’t know what you are talking about’.”
Ms McCormack said that they were paid in full for the couple’s stay.
“We have been paid the normal way through our agent in Dublin. He got the booking. It was paid the regular way - there was no difference compared with any other time we worked with our agent - it was exactly the same.”
Ms Cormack said she wasn’t aware of any problems encountered by the couple during their stay at the castle which is located outside Ardpatrick.
“I’m not aware of any problems. I didn’t really have much dealing with them. Everything was as it should be.”
