A LIMERICK-based model who dreams of becoming a Victoria’s Secret angel has been invited to the City of Angels, Los Angeles, to attend an international film festival.

Shauna Lindsay, who is the face of Gosh cosmetics, has been invited as a VIP guest to attend the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival in LA later this month. The 20-year-old beauty, who signed with the Andrea Roche agency last month, is thrilled to be packing her bags for the star-studded event, the world’s largest gathering of fashion film-makers.

“I was approached in LA when I was there last year by Gene Chang who was asking if I modelled. He is big in the fashion industry over there,” Shauna explained. “I had to get on a flight the next day so I couldn’t go to the casting that he was holding but he was very interested in me, which was good. We became friends on Facebook and we have been in touch ever since.”

The movers and shakers in Hollywood and the fashion capitals of the world, will come together in late July to network, make deals, attend seminars, screen films, go to press receptions, participate in after parties, and win awards.

Shauna is no stranger to LA as her sister is based there. “I go to LA every year – it’s where I love to be. To be invited to this is mind-blowing – it’s a dream! Now I just have to find something to wear,” she smiled. “I’m very honoured to be asked, I’m picking out outfits and I plan to wear the fabulous Marion Murphy Cooney.”

Shauna has many meetings planned in LA and will be working on a number of shoots with high-profile photog-raphers. The former Miss Limerick winner said she is delighted with the opportunities which have arisen since taking the title in 2013.

“I never thought that entering Miss Limerick would lead to such amazing opportunities,” she said.

Last December she won the title of #GoshGirl2015, beating off stiff competition from over 2,000 young women nationwide. Almost half a million votes were cast in the two-month long social media campaign, and the top 23 girls were brought to Dublin’s Morgan Hotel to be judged by a panel including models Glenda Gilson and Sarah Morrissey and celebrity photographer Evan Doherty.

As part of the Andrea Roche Model Agency, Shauna is on the same books as Ireland’s leading catwalk queens, Roz Purcell and Georgia Salpa.

The brunette beauty, who is originally from Shannon, lives in Limerick city centre and remains on the books of the Holman Lee Agency.
