THERE will be no Limerick Rose on stage at the Rose of Tralee this week, but the Queensland Rose Sorcha Holmes will have dozens of Limerick supporters with her in the Dome.

Sorcha, from the Ennis Road, is the first ever non Australian-born lady to claim the title.

“While I am the Queensland Rose, I’m also going to be representing Limerick as well,” the 26 year-old told the Limerick Leader.

“I had no plans to come home (from Australia) this year at all, and then this happened, and it has been an absolute whirlwind,” she added.

The Rose of Tralee will be on RTE1 this Monday and Tuesday night from 8pm. Sorcha will take to the stage in the Dome in Tralee on Tuesday, the 29th Rose to appear and third from the end.
