Woodlands Hotel to host Our Lady’s Abbey fashion fundraiser

Teachers, parents and pupils from Our Lady’s Abbey Girls’ School in Adare will be taking to the catwalk to raise funds for a new classroom later this month.

Teachers, parents and pupils from Our Lady’s Abbey Girls’ School in Adare will be taking to the catwalk to raise funds for a new classroom later this month.

A fundraising fashion show will take place in the Woodlands House Hotel on March 27 featuring the latest fashion from local boutiques. All the clothes will be modelled by men, women and children from the local community.

Principal Mary Lavin said she is anticipating to a great evening of style and entertainment. “It should be a fantastic evening with entertainment for all,” she said.

The fashion show, entitled Handbags and Gladrags, will feature fashion from Isobel, Catherine McCormack, K Boutique, Footprints, Noel’s Menswear, Serendipity, Joli, Stitch, Little Rascals and Brown Thomas Kids. It will also feature local designers Clare Slattery, Aisling Maher and Emma Mulcair.

Entertainment on the night will be provided by the Bennis School of Irish Dancing and there will be a selection of raffle prizes that have been collected by the parents’ committee. The door prize on the night will be a Harley Davidson BMX bicycle.

Our Lady’s Abbey was founded in 1854 and currently has 130 pupils.

“A word of thanks to our fashion show committee, the parents, staff and children in the school and especially the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare for all their hard work and help in organising the night,” said Ms Lavin.
