THE renowned art auction house Dolan’s return to the Castletroy Park Hotel this Sunday with a major collection of works for sale - featuring many important Limerick artists.
Taking place this Sunday, November 4 at 3pm, the auction features a wide array of paintings by artists of national acclaim, with over 200 lots of paintings and sculpture and “something for every pocket from €50 for a Paul Henry print up to quality works that are sure to attract attention”, according to Niall Dolan.
“Limerick has produced so many important contemporary artists and significant among these is Jack Donovan who has a total of 8 paintings in the sale, which range from the quirky Clown with Trunk and Diana the Huntress to striking flower paintings in his own unique style,” explained Mr Dolan.
“Charles Harper is also featured with a large work entitled ‘That Evening’, a grid painting enclosing no less than 56 landscape images,” he explained.
Other Limerick artists represented include Geraldine O’Brien, Annemarie Bourke, Tom Greaney, Henry Morgan.
“Markey Robinson, John Kingerlee, Graham Knuttel, Norman Teeling and Thelma Mansfield are among the well known artists in this auction,” added Mr Dolan.
The entire collection is on public exhibition as of 12pm this Friday at the Castletroy Park Hotel. Admission is free and all are welcome.
