MULTI million selling author Darren Shan is to host readings from the latest instalment of his vampire saga in the Belltable next week.

Shan - from Pallaskenry - will host readings for both schools and the general public in the Belltable next week, reading a section from his new book Brothers to the Death - The Saga of Larten Crepsley.

The book is the fourth and final instalment in Shan’s epic saga of Larten Crepsley, ‘vampire, hero and victim of fate’, and is a prequel to the bestselling series The Saga of Darren Shan which started 11 years ago with Cirque du Freak.

The latter was made into a blockbuster Hollywood movie in 2009 - the Irish premiere of which was held in Limerick - and the author has seen staggering success globally and his worldwide sales are now over 20 million copies.

Shan - real name Darren O’Shaughnessy - has carved out a hugely impressive niche for himself in the horror/fantasy genre, succeeding despite Cirque du Freak being turned down by 20 different publishers before it was accepted.

The readings take place at 11.30am - for schools - and 7pm - for the general public - on April 26. See www.belltable.ie.
