SOME of Limerick’s top acts and bands, who have contributed to a new compilation album filled with the leading lights of the local music scene, are to perform a free gig in Dolan’s Warehouse this Saturday.

Protobaby, Dead Red Light, Moscow Metro, Keith Forde, Eamonn Hehir, Siobhan O’Brien and Randolf - all of whom feature on New Reindeer Age charity compilation album - will perform at the album’s launch this Saturday.

The album takes it inspiration from the legendary Reindeer Age compilation put together by Xeric in 1990 and aims to raise funds for the Learning Hub Limerick, based in Thomondgate.

The album features some of Limerick’s top bands and “shows the amazing depth of talent the city holds”, according to the driving force behind the project, Keith Kelly, who runs the popular Indie Limerick blog.

The 22 track CD will cost €10 and has been funded by local businesses.
