SOME of the bravest children in Ireland will be feted later this month as Share A Dream holds its annual gala ball at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The charitable foundation, which makes dreams come true for terminally ill children, is based in Limerick and to mark Shannonside’s year as City of Culture, it has returned the Dream Ball to Limerick.
This is not only a glamorous social event but also an opportunity to pay tribute to eight very special children nominated in the National Children of Courage Awards.
“Their determination to get as much out of life as possible in spite of their illness or disability will be honoured and their dreams will come true on the night,” explained Share A Dream’s Laura Bohan.
“Guests on the night really feel part of the magic. And honouring these children gives many other families, struggling to come to terms with a terminally ill child, the hope that their child can have a fulfilled life. These children deserve recognition and to know that they are not alone and not forgotten about.”
On why he had set up the charity, Share A Dream founder Shay Kinsella said: “there is no greater joy in the world than seeing the smile on the face of a very special child who has suffered so much in their short and traumatic young lives, knowing you made it happen. It’s magic”.
The Dream Ball takes place at the Radisson on Saturday, November 29 and will feature fine food, music and dancing into the wee, small hours as well as the opportunity to share the moment with the award nominees and their families.
Tickets cost €110 each or €1,000 for a table of 10 with all funds raised on the night going to Share A Dream. To buy tickets, call 061 200 080 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
