FROM the catwalk in Pery’s Best Western hotel to the beaches of Mexico, Limerick’s Miss Bikini Ireland has now taken to the catwalk in New York.
Judy Fitzgerald, 23, from Raheen, a general nurse at the University Hospital in Dooradoyle, was invited to take part in New York Fashion Week, after competing in Mexico in November last at the world’s biggest bikini contest, Swimsuit USA International.
Wearing a blue gown, as well as a striking blue lipstick and blue eye-shadow, Judy modelled for Andres Aquino, who presented a special collection entitled “Blue Rose” as a grand finale of his 21st season of Couture Fashion Week New York, in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square in Manhattan.
It has been a whirlwind few months for the young woman, who recently got her degree in nursing from University College Cork and was interviewed for her new job just before jetting off to Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Not long after her return, she was called back again to New York, and hopes to continue some modelling work alongside her nursing day job.
The petite 5’2 blonde will now be a head judge for Miss Bikini Ireland this year as the heats start in April.
The pageant welcomes women aged 17-30 and has fewer restrictions than other competitions. To enter see Miss Bikini Ireland.
