THE LIMERICK leader on this year’s Operation Transformation can’t wait to lose weight in the New Year.

Kayleigh Yeoman. from Corbally, is the youngest ever leader on the popular RTE TV show at just 18.

“It’s been crazy, but a good crazy - not stressful or anything,” said Kayleigh in advance of the first airing of the show on Wednesday, January 4.

She was looking forward to enjoying Christmas before the diet and exercise regime starts.

“We’ve had to live our life normally. We’re not allowed to start our diets or our exercise plans until January 2. So I’m going to fill myself up over Christmas for the next eight weeks!” joked Kayleigh.

She weighs 15 stone but because she is five foot seven inches tall, show producers were surprised that she weighed that much.

It’s going to an intensive eight weeks for Kayleigh.

“The cameras will be with me five days a week Tuesday to Saturday down here in Limerick. Then on Sundays we will all be training with the army in the Curragh and doing challenges. Monday then is the weigh-in so we will be filming with the crew.

“Somebody will be with me from 8am in the morning until I go to bed at night. I suppose there is no temptation when someone is watching you all the time!” laughed Kayleigh.

The first episode of Operation Transformation starts on Wednesday, January 4 on RTE 1 at a time of the year when we all have good intentions to shed some weight and Kayleigh aims to help us.
