THERE are fears for 30 jobs in Limerick after music retailer HMV appointed administrators this morning.
Fifteen people work at the HMV store in Cruises Street, with a further 15 employed at the chain’s store in the Crescent Shopping Centre.
Both stores are trading as normal today, although the the store at Cruises Street was forced to close for short time this lunchtime, as customers with gift cards sought clarification from staff as to their entitlement.
Speculation over the future of HMV in the UK has been rife since before Christmas when it issued a ‘going concern’ warning, saying it would almost certainly breach banking covenant tests at the end of this month.
