London Classic Theatre are on their way to the Belltable for a three night run of the critically acclaimed play Equus by Peter Shaffer.
Famous for being Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe’s first role on stage, the play deals with a youth’s actions in blinding horses with a metal pike and is a psychological thriller that explores the relationships between worship, myth and sexuality.
Convicted of this appalling crime, seventeen-year-old Alan Strang is sent to a secure psychiatric hospital where an attempt is made to understand his motives. Inspired by a true story, Equus was originally staged in 1973 and was resurrected to acclaim on the West End in 2007.
London Classic Theatre celebrated 10 years on tour in 2010 and to over 300,000 people at more than 150 theatres and arts centres around the UK and Ireland.
The production runs in the Belltable from April 19-21. See www.belltable.ie for more.
