FOR the perfect antidote to the onset of winter, head to the Kasbah Social Club this Thursday night and bask in the warm glow of Choke Comedy’s laughter inducing improv.

The Limerick troupe make a welcome return to the Dock Road venue - running under the Dolan’s stable - as they bring, they tell us without any suggestion of bravado, “laughter and light to battle the inevitable darkness”.

Taking to the stage without a script, the players develop characters, scenes, locations and fantastic stories from even the slightest of audience suggestions.

Having been busy running Limerick’s inaugural ‘Intro to Improv’ course and preparing for a performance at Improv Fest Ireland, Choke are looking forward to playing to a home audience again at the Kasbah.

Doors open at 8pm on Thursday and tickets are €10 (€7 with concession). A busy week for gigs in Dolan’s also sees Roisin O, Ron Sexsmith, King Kong Company, the Andy Sheppard Quartet taking to various stages. See dolans.ie.
