POWERHOUSE vocalist Jack L return to Dolan’s Warehouse this Saturday night, for a much anticipated gig.
The Kildare native, one of Ireland’s most respected and popular performers, is back in the city with his band and armed with an album of new, self-penned material.
Described - by the Guardian no less - as possessing a voice that is a “mixture of all the great voices of the 20th century”, Jack Lukeman, to give him his full and proper title, is known for his stunning vocal power and an inventive live show.
For the last number of years he has been busy touring Europe and America - playing the Symphony Space in Manhattan and the Edinburgh and Recklinghausen Fringe Festivals - while also intermittently recording specials for RTE radio and touring with Jools Holland on his UK tours as a special guest act. Indeed this was Lukeman’s sixth consecutive year performing at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In this show, Jack will be giving a potted history of his stunning career to date and performing songs from his recent hit shows The 27 Club and the Great Wall of China tours, plus lots of new stuff from his upcoming new album thrown in, with the man himself promising “some knock-out songs you haven’t heard before”.
Expect cabaret, rock and more as “Ireland’s national treasure” surprises, challenges, excites and - most of all - entertains his crowd.
Jack L plays Dolan’s Warehouse this Saturday, doors at 8pm and tickets are €20. See www.dolans.ie.
