THREE of Limerick’s most well-known ladies are preparing to glam it up for the red carpet after being nominated across three categories in The Peter Mark VIP Style Awards.

The doyenne of fashion in Limerick, Celia Holman Lee, has been nominated in the Most Stylish Woman category while Leanne Moore is in the running for the Most Stylish Newcomer award.

The recently engaged Madeline Mulqueen, meanwhile, has been nominated in the Look of the Year category.

“I am so thrilled that we have the young guns from Limerick nominated to pick up the gongs – the likes of the beautiful Leanne Moore and Madeline Mulqueen. I am very proud of them. I would love Limerick to get behind the three of us and vote for us,” said Celia, who won the very first VIP Style Award in 2002. She also won the inaugural VIP Style Icon award in 2011.

“I feel honoured. I didn’t expect it,” said the model agent of her latest award nomination.

“There are some amazingly stylish women in the same category – Mary Kennedy who I love, and I am a great fan of Claire Byrne, Amy Huberman and Miriam O’Callaghan. They are very hardworking, glamorous women.”

Now in its 13th year, The Peter Mark VIP Style Awards – one of the most glitzy ceremonies on the Irish social scene – takes place at Dublin’s Marker Hotel on Friday, April 25.

While she said she is “excited and delighted” to be nominated for a VIP award, showbiz correspondent and singer Leanne Moore hasn’t even thought about the all-important dress yet.

“I am the most chilled out person. I like to be comfortable. I’m the one in my PJs on the couch at the weekend or getting out of the car holding my heels in my hand,” she joked.

“When I go home to Limerick I stay with my aunt Mary Joyce and she would be following me out the front door saying ‘take off that hoodie!’ ”

Meanwhile, model Madeline Mulqueen from Kildimo is expected to make her first public appearance with her new fiance actor Jack Reynor at the awards. The couple, who have been together two years, confirmed their engagement earlier this month.

The 23-year-old famously played the brassy bridesmaid in the Rubberbandits Horse Outside video.
