LIMERICK model agent Celia Holman-Lee has joined forces with Minister for Tourism, Leo Varadkar, to launch An Post’s new postage stamp celebrating The Gathering Ireland 2013.
The colourful 82c stamp was designed by Irish graphic artists Design Factory, and builds on elements of The Gathering’s official logo to form a map of Ireland, representing the huge range and sheer number of events planned around the country this year.
Celia made the trip to Dublin’s GPO with models from her agency to unveil the eye-catching stamp which will make its way right around the world - doing its own job of promoting The Gathering wherever it’s sent.
Celia and friends posted off Gathering-stamped invitations to her own major international fashion gathering which will take place in Limerick city this October. Celia is inviting students from across the UK, the US, Europe and Ireland to compete for the IPB International Young Student Designer of The Year Award 2013. Alumni fashion graduates from the city, now residing throughout the world, are also invited back to Limerick to attend this very special gathering.
“This event will showcase Limerick’s international fashion pedigree and its strong reputation in fashion,†said Celia.
“I was thrilled to be invited to Dublin for the launch of The Gathering stamp and to promote the wonderful range of events which Limerick has planned as part of the celebrations,†she added.
Speaking at the GPO, Minister Varadkar said he was delighted to report that more than 2,500 community gatherings have already been organised across Ireland.
“I urge anyone with family and friends abroad to use the stamp, send a letter, and invite them home in 2013,†he added.
The stamp is available online at irishstamps.ie, and at main post offices. 82c covers worldwide airmail postage for a standard letter up to 50g.
