The Ultimate Santa Claus Experience will visit Limerick once again due to popular demand which saw thousands of Limerick children visit the unique Christmas experience last year.

Santa Claus, along with Mrs Claus and a team of elves are due to arrive to the old Dunnes Stores retail unit on Sarsfield Street on Friday, November 30 and will remain in Limerick until December 23.

Santa Experience owner Ger Clarke says that he is delighted to welcome Santa back again to Limerick adding that he is “delighted to have built up a strong friendship with Santa Claus over a number of years.”

“I’ve always enjoyed Christmas and this was a concept I had been thinking about for years and I just felt that there were very few real Christmas experiences for children,” explained Mr Clarke.

“We’ve built something that allows children to go through a journey which starts in the North Pole and letting them make their way to Santa’s grotto,” he adds. Upon entering the Santa Experience, children will be met by their very own specially assigned elf who will bring them to the post office where they can write their own letters and help to sort the mail. Children will then continue through a tunnel into the arctic and where they may spot a few polar bears. From here children will visit the barn and if they are very lucky they may get to ride in the sleigh before they meet Santa Claus himself.

The ‘Santa Experience’ was started by Limerick businessman Ger Clarke in 2010 and originally began in Bedford Row. However it moved to a bigger premises on Sarsfield Street last year and this year the idea has also expanded to vacant Dunnes Stores retail units in Cork and Dublin.

“We got an incredible response for the last two years and that’s what keeps you going. This experience is very close to what I would have known growing up and we think it’s different from anything else around,” said Mr Clarke who adds that Santa has a special message for the children of Limerick.

“Santa says that he can’t wait to meet all the children in Limerick again this year and he hopes that they have been well behaved,” he adds.

The Santa Experience is available to book online at www.santaexperience.ie or by ringing 0818 33 33 07. Prices start at €10 per child with two adults for free. A photo with Santa Claus, which will be processed there and then, will cost an additional €8.
