CORK electronic wonderkind Toby Kaar kicks off a new series of Thursday gigs in Bourke’s Bar, Catherine Street, this week.

Despite only starting to produce music in the last six years Kaar has in a short space of time rapidly risen to the top of the Irish electronic music scene. The producer blends hip hop and Four Tet inspired beats to mesmeric effect, and gave show stopping performances at a number of festivals and Irish shows last year.

Support slots with Gold Panda and festival slots at Castlepalooza and Body and Soul marked Kaar out as something special.

This is the first in a new series of gigs that Bourke’s have scheduled for 2012, keeping up with last year’s Thursday night gigs, which saw Jape, the Jimmy Cake, the Kanyu Tree, Goodtime, Elaine Mai and more play top quality gigs in the bar, absolutely free.

Gigs start at 9pm and admission is free.
