LIMERICK Racecourse have announced the line-up for their ‘Twilight Racing’ series taking place this summer, which are a social highlight on the local calendar.
Featuring among the line-up for the series are high profile acts Ryan Sheridan, Delorentos and West Limerick band Mad for Road, who will perform after their recent successes on RTE’s All-Ireland Talent Show.
The Twilight Racing meets have become very popular locally in recent years, with all of the excitement of a full race meeting compressed into three hours and followed by some exceptional music and entertainment in the Patrickswell course, and Russell Ferris, General Manager of Limerick Racecourse, said it is “without doubt my favourite time of the year” at the course.
“The Twilight Races bring together all things good about horse racing and great entertainment and most of all the craic as Greenmount Park explodes in music,” he laughed.
He added: “This year the music lineup is excellent, with three very different musical acts performing over the three dates”.
Kicking off the series will be chart topper Ryan Sheridan, whose debut album “The Day You Live Forever” has proved as popular as his single ‘Jigsaw’, and he will play on Saturday, June 11. Malahide band Delorentos will headline the Friday June 17 meeting, the band boasting an immense following.
Finally - on Thursday, July 21 - Limerick’s own Mad for Road will grace the stage at the racecourse.
The action starts at Limerick Racecourse at 5.30pm and general admission is €17 per person, including admission to the races and concert. Packages are available.
