HOW big is your love? Are you brave enough to shout sweet nothings for all the town to see?

HOW big is your love? Are you brave enough to shout sweet nothings for all the town to see?

The Parkway Shopping Centre is this month giving people the chance to get their Valentine’s Day message written on a billboard for all to witness - and crucially their special someone.

The billboard can be brought to your loved one’s work-place or home, where the message measuring 12ft by 10ft will be in full view - to hopefully capture their heart or seal the deal on a lifetime together.

Whether it’s a simple ‘I Love You’, a poem or even a proposal, those brave enough to wear their heart on their sleeve can take part in the ultimate public display of affection.

People can enter their message online at, and the winner will be revealed on Valentine’s day.

However, wordsmiths should be aware, as entries are capped at a maximum of 20 words and the deadline is February 3.

Roger Beck, manager of the Parkway, said they’re looking forward “to having a bit of fun” with this campaign, and are already receiving plenty of interest from the public, even though it has just been advertised this week.

“It’s essentially one big Valentine’s card, and it’s something different and quirky. It doesn’t have to be a proposal, it can be a message of love or lust,” he laughed.

“I’m sure there’ll be lots of interesting entries and we’ll be contacting the winner in advance of Valentine’s day to let them know.”

Meanwhile, for those who want to show how big their love is though floral displays, Every Blooming Thing on William Street is selling bouquets of roses for upwards of €420, which include 100 red roses with diamante studs.
