WHATEVER about the weather, there is a definite spring in the step of the 50-plus students at Salesian College, Pallaskenry who will be taking part in the school’s annual fashion show which will be held in Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Adare next Wednesday, April 24.

Joining the students on the catwalk will be some of their teachers along with models from Glamour the Agency while Lyric FM’s Lorcan Murray will be compere for the night.

The proceeds from this year’s show will be used to making the school accessible for wheelchair users. principal Paddy O’Neill explainedd.

This will involve modifying a lot of the entrances to classrooms, many of which have nine inch steps. In addition to ramps, the school will also modify a bathroom to cater fully for all wheelchair users.

Tickets for the fashion show which begins at 8pm cost €15 for adults with a discount for students and are available through the school.

There is a two night break in Kilkenny as a prize for one lucky ticket holder in the door raffle. There will also be a ticket raffle with valuable prizes including meals out and overnight breaks.

Among the boutiques taking part are Isobels, the K Boutique, Joannes, The G Boutique, Shaws, Virginijas, Imasa, Serendipity Shoe boutique, McGoverns, Noels, Seduzca, Diesel , Gretta Gibbs, Pamela Scotts, Caroline Mitchel, 7 Camicie, and Patsys.

The Hugh Cambell hair group will be styling all models’ hair on the night.
