A GLOSSY new online magazine for Limerick students has been produced by their fellow students to advise them of all the city has to offer.

Student Life magazine is the brainchild of Mary Immaculate College student Michelle Costello, a fourth year BA student.

Ms Costello explained that the magazine is intended as an “online Freshers guide to Limerick”, which contains a wealth of information for new students.

“The publication supports a wealth of local businesses and encourages students to shop, spend and enjoy local,” she explained.

“The idea behind the publication is to explore the talent the city has to offer as everyone who worked on Student Life is living in Limerick,” she added.

The 88-page publication is free to view for all online, and contains information about shopping and fashion, the local music scene, mental health and sex education, college information and campus maps, welcome messages from the Limerick Co-ordination Office and Local Heroes group and more. The not-for-profit e-zine has already received over 20,000 page views.

“The amount of local people that gave their time to contribute to this publication is outstanding, it shows what a wealth of talent we have in Limerick City, all who are willing to do something to make the city better and integrate the population,” said Michelle.

“It is about time we show that Limerick can be as prominent as other cities such as Dublin in publishing, photography, videography, graphic design, we have the people and the talent, people just need an opportunity.”
