The brainchild of University of Limerick graduate, Shane Dunne, Indiependence boasts an impressive line-up over the three days of this August Bank Holiday Weekend that features Editors, Ash, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Therapy?, The Coronas, Whipping Boy, Ham Sandwich, the Frank and Walters, Ryan Sheridan, And So I Watch You From Afar and Gemma Hayes, across four stages.

Joining these headliners are some of the best up-and-coming bands in the country, like The Minutes, The Kanyu Tree, We Cut Corners, Not Squares, Bats, Jogging and Miracle Bell.

Altogether some 100 artists will play at Indiependence and in a new venture, comedy heats have been taking place across the country with the winners set to perform in the new comedy tent at the festival. Andrew Stanley and Damo Clark will MC proceedings. Other comics playing include Fred Cooke and Joe Rooney.

Last year’s festival - headliners for which included White Lies - was the first to take place in a brand new, green field site, the completely independent festival managing to create a low-cost festival with a superb line-up - rightly being shortlisted as one of the best small festivals in Europe in 2010.

New this year are chill out areas, a campsite DJ area and boutique camping. Day tickets for Saturday and Sunday are also available. See www.indiependencefestival.com for full details.
