PETER Hook is to play a Joy Division celebration in Limerick this November.
The bass player and co-founding member of the seminal English band - which reformed as New Order following the death of Ian Curtis - will bring his band The Light to Dolan’s Warehouse on November 26, part of a wider symposium being organised by the Popular Music and Popular Culture Research Cluster in UL.
Hook and the band will perform the classic albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer in full, while also performing opening set comprising of New Order material, of which Hook was a member until 2007.
The Limerick show - a first for Hook - is among a handful of national dates the musician will perform.
Tickets are already on sale and Joy Division fans would want to move quick to pick them up for this show, one of just a handlful Hook will play in Ireland this year.
