SANTA is set for an arrival from the North Pole at Limerick’s Crescent Shopping Centre this Sunday, while RTE presenter Emma O’Driscoll will switch on the lights this Friday.
The festive spirit will be brought to life in the Centre with the switching on of the spectacular Christmas tree lights in the main concourse area at 5pm this Friday by Limerick’s own TV star Emma, who is appearing in Limerick Panto Society’s Cinderella this Christmas.
Emma will perform a song and will be accompanied by the Limerick Gospel Choir.
Then, on Sunday at 1pm, Santa will arrive at the Garryowen Mall entrance and will be welcomed in style by the local Corpus Christi Pipe Band.
The band will then lead Santa down to his Grotto while he meets and greets those who turn out to welcome him. Members of Limerick Panto Society will also be on hand to join in the fun.
“As always, Santa’s arrival is special, seeing children, parents and grandchildren gather in the Centre to share that special moment never gets old,” said manager John Davitt.
“We invite all our customers young and old to share this occasion with us.
“Everyone here is excited to welcome shoppers in the weeks before Christmas and the vast selection of stores really has something for everyone. Families are especially welcome and children can visit Santa and his helpers in the Grotto, which is adjacent to the Crescent crèche, every day until Christmas Eve,” he added.
Munster’s largest shopping centre will start its Christmas late opening hours from Monday, December 8.
