THERE was a night of fun and festivity as traders from Roches Street and Catherine Street came together to organise a social evening in aid of Adapt House.

Retailers from the streets gathered at Jerry Flannery’s Pub for their annual Christmas celebration, and there was also an appearance from Santa Claus himself.

More than €1,200 was raised for Adapt House, which provides a refuge for victims of domestic abuse.

Marianne Fitzgibbon, Widdess Fitzgibbon pharmacy, said traders chose Adapt House, based in Rosbrien, because they had earlier in the year bid to be included to benefit at the annual traders arts festival.

All money on the night went to Adapt, with entry fees and raffles providing various spot prizes.
