CAN you walk on red hot wood embers? If so, Muscular Dystrophy Ireland is looking for you.
The charity is calling on people across Limerick to support a fire walk.
With at least 25 people in Limerick suffering from the muscle wasting condition, the charity has teamed up with Blaze Enterprises to hold a ‘Fire Walking’ event in Croke Park on Friday, September 16.
All funds raised from the event will go towards Muscular Dystrophy Ireland’s respite support services and “Home from Home” Apartment for all members to avail of.
Explaining the event, Amy Bramley fundraising & PR coordinator at Muscular Dystrophy Ireland said: “In simple terms, the event is for sponsored individuals. After receiving a motivational training session, they will be able to walk across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit without experiencing any pain or injury at all”.
Ms Bramley added: “The fire walk is aimed at initiating innovative mind expanding experiences for individuals and groups, as well as bringing work teams together, enhancing communication, having great fun and at the same time raising much needed funds for people with muscular dystrophy living in Co Limerick.”
