TOP photographer Cormac Byrne will be capturing a selection of Limerick personalities in a new exhibition due to open in the city in May.

TOP photographer Cormac Byrne will be capturing a selection of Limerick personalities in a new exhibition due to open in the city in May.

Faces of Limerick will see the award-winning Dooradoyle photographer take pictures of both well-known people and unexpected Limerick characters at locations across the city.

Mayor of Limerick Cllr Jim Long, who will be featured in the exhibition, officially launched the exhibition last week and revealed that the exhibition will be opened in the Strand Hotel on Friday, May 4, the night of the 2012 Mayor’s Ball.

“I wish Cormac the best of luck with this exhibition, I think Faces of Limerick is a wonderful idea and I look forward to seeing all the images unveiled in the Limerick Strand Hotel on the night of May 4,” said Mayor Long.

Cormac is a professional photographer and licentiate member of the Irish Professional Photographers Association who has built up his reputation over the past 21 years. He has numerous Fuji and Kodak awards under his belt, including the prestigious Fuji/I.P.P.A. Masterpiece Award and over 25 Gold Crest Awards from the IPPA throughout his career.
