LIMERICK has yet another mystery €1 million Lotto winner, this time with a ticket bought in the Crescent Shopping Centre last Wednesday.

LIMERICK has yet another mystery €1 million Lotto winner, this time with a ticket bought in the Crescent Shopping Centre last Wednesday.

News of the second Lotto Daily Million top prize win - still unclaimed - comes as a large family group travelled to Dublin this Monday to collect the ticket sold in Centra in Woodview Shopping Centre on the Old Cratloe Road recently.

The family, who do not wish to be named, range in ages from 20 to 60 years and each family member collected in the region of €70,000 for their win.

The family travelled by coach to collect the €1m prize and declared that “miracles do happen” after their €1.50 Quick Pick ticket win.

Incredibly, Limerick also now has a second winner of the €1m Daily Millions top prize in a matter of days with a €7 Quick Pick ticket sold in Paper View in the Crescent Shopping Centre last Wednesday.

The National Lottery confirmed that the ticket was sold in the shop last Wednesday and won the top prize in last Friday night’s Daily Millions draw.

It is as yet unclaimed.

“Limerick is proving very lucky with the Daily Million game,” said a spokesperson for the National Lottery.

Brendan Maher of Paper View said news of selling the winning ticket for last Friday’s draw was “very exciting”.

“We sold the winning ticket for last Friday’s draw. It is very exciting, it gets a bit of a buzz going,” explained Mr Maher.

“Everybody is wondering who it is, we have big posters up saying ‘are you our millionaire’ - we have a big search on, we are making a big fuss of it,” he laughed.

“We will have to wait and see who it is,” he added. “This is our first big win, we have had a couple of fairly substantial ones in the past, one for €65,000 and a couple of €10,000s, but this is our first very big win.

“We are all very happy and are hoping it is a local. We have the same people coming into us all the time so we are hoping it is one of regulars,” he added.

The Limerick family who bought the winning ticket in Woodview on Thursday, September 27, but failed to claim it for over ten days, said that it was the “first big Lottery win together as a family”.

“I was in Dunne’s Stores in the Jetland when I checked the ticket the morning after the draw. I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said the unnamed family member who purchased the Lotto ticket.

“I was a millionaire for two minutes, but then I remembered I was sharing it all with the family. When I bought the ticket I looked at the numbers and I thought to myself, I might as well bin it now, these numbers haven’t a snowball’s chance in hell of coming up. They were all in the thirties – 30,31,32,33,36,37. But miracles do happen, and I’m so glad I didn’t bin the ticket now, and I’m also glad that this miracle has happened to our family,” added the lucky lady.

The win means two of three winners of €1m in the new Daily Million draw have been from Limerick.

There was more joy for a lucky Prize Bond holder from county Limerick in recent days, with the news emerging that the lucky local has won the weekly Prize Bond Star Prize of €20,000, on a bond purchased an amazing 27 years ago.
