EIGHT stores in Limerick city are offering special discounts of up to 20% as part of the inaugural Ladies Weekend.

Boutiques including Joli, Serendipity, Tippe Canoe, Gretta Gibbs, O’Donnell’s, Imasa and 7 Camicie will have a range of special in-store promotions and discounts from October 11-13.

The centrepiece of the weekend is the 15th annual Women’s mini marathon on Saturday, from 3pm around the grounds of UL.

Fashion and racing will also provide some entertainment before and after the main event.

Ryan’s Jewellers will be offering 20% off everything in store, with 30-50% off selected diamond rings.

Niall Colgan hairdresser at the Strand will be offering blow dries at a reduced rate of €20 on Friday and Saturday - a reduction of 33%. Brown Thomas in Limerick is offering two hours free parking if you spend €150.

Over 60 charities from across the Mid-West have now registered to take part on the day, among the expected 2,000 entrants.

Proceeds from entries will go towards Limerick Athletics Club, and charities across the Mid-West have generally reaped individual donations of thousands of euro throughout its long-standing history.
