WITH just a week until the first ever Walk of Life in Limerick, organiser Martin Kiely has issued a final appeal for support.

Five walks will take place across Limerick, with one in Co Clare, from 12midday next Saturday.

The six kilometre walks will raise money for Milford Hospice. The event has received a boost, with Alfie Greene, of Greene’s Shoes, supplying 1,000 designated tee-shirts to participants. These were launched at Greene’s store in the Crescent SC.

Alfie said: “I was very taken by what Martin Kiely and his committee are trying to do, I know what hospice care do and the valuable part they play in our society. We just can’t take that for granted”.

It is hoped hundreds will take part, and to gain more support, a colours day will be held in every national and secondary school this Friday, 18 October.
