Cannonball 2013 is due to arrive with a mighty roar through O’Connell Street at around 6pm before cooling their jets in Pery Square so people can get up close and personal with drivers, celebrities and 160 of the finest cars on the planet.

Cannonball, sponsored by Manhattan Popcorn, is the largest organised road trip in Europe and billed as the most exciting motoring and social event of the year with most of the world’s top mark cars including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley.

This is the first year that Cannonball comes to Limerick and people are expected to flock in their thousands to soak up the festival atmosphere at this free family event with super cars, novelty cars and colourful characters.

The star-studded convoy includes some of Ireland’s best loved celebrities. An Taoiseach Enda Kenny has even stepped up to drop the Cannonball Flag. World Famous chart topper Bruno Mars has joined Boyzone’s Shane Lynch who is signed up for his fifth Cannonball along with former Miss World Rosanna Davison and her boyfriend Wes Quirke.

On Sunday morning Cannonballers will leave Limerick at 10am and go to Killaloe for a very special Gathering of the ‘Men of the Water’ and the official start of Day 3 at 11am. From there the cars will move on to Cashel in Tipperary at 1.30pm where they will close a Cannonball Festival.
