“I DON’T want to see the departure lounge too soon,” joked Limerick’s first lady of fashion on the occasion of her 65th birthday this Wednesday.
Instead of throwing a big bash like she did back in 2010 to mark her milestone 60th, the model agent went for a low-key affair, celebrating the big day at home in Ballysheedy surrounded by her nearest and dearest.
“I’m just relaxing with the family. We are all staying at home and having a meal as a family and then I am saying hello to two or three friends this evening just to mark it.”
So, how does the doyenne of Limerick fashion feel about having another year on the clock?
“I don’t feel too bad,” she admitted. “I’m not saying that I’m delighted to be 65. I didn’t think it would actually effect me like it has, I go ‘Oh my God, 65, Jesus!’ I’m thinking ‘wow’ but I certainly, certainly, don’t feel it. I have great energy. We are all blessed with different things in our lives - a lot of wealth and lots of everything else but what I have is lots of energy.”
The glamorous grandmother’s main priority now in life is to remain healthy and happy to be around “for as long as I possibly can be to see my four beautiful grandchildren Henry, Ryan, Erika and Tommy grow up”.
