A LIMERICK model who has made it through to the final of Miss Universe Ireland is hoping she is just want the judges are looking for as self-professed “confident, independent woman, who is ready to take over the world”.
Shauna Lindsay, a former Miss Limerick and the current face of Gosh cosmetics as well as being a model with the Andrea Roche Agency, captured the attention of the judges of an online competition with her natural beauty which was revealed in a ‘no make-up selfie’.
The brunette beauty will now represent the Love Irish Skin brand in the Miss Universe Ireland Final on November 27 in Cork, along with winning €1,000 worth of treatments at Therapie Clinic.
The 20-year-old, who is currently single, said the main focus between now and the weekend is ensuring that her body is in tip-top condition for the final.
“It’s going to be clean eating and get to the gym every day,” she said.
Shauna, who is also a Holman Lee Agency model, said her dress for the big night will either be from Ivory Closet or Be Fabulous. Her modelling career took off after taking the Miss Limerick crown at the tender age of 18.
“Since winning Miss Limerick, my career has went onwards and upwards,” she explained.
The model, who is just shy of 5’10”, said she can’t begin to imagine what winning Miss Ireland would do for her career.
“I’ve actually judged Miss Limerick so I think I know what they’re looking for – just a confident, independent woman, who wants to take over the world,” she laughed.
Shauna spoke of the success of fellow model, Roz Purcell, and how winning Miss Universe Ireland launched her career.
“It’s a big deal, it’s not something to take lightly. I’m serious about this competition. I’m determined, I’m going to put everything I have into it, and, hopefully, I’ll win.”
The social media queen has just over 13,000 followers online.
“It’s crazy but I’m just so thankful. I really appreciate the people that have an interest in my journey.”
