THE sixteen-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed in a housing estate in Corbally has been named as Roman Vysochan from Westbury.
Originally from Ukraine, Roman Vysochan had been living at Ashley Close, Westbury,for a number of years and he was a fith-year-student at St Munchin's College.
A post mortem was conducted on his body this afternoon by the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy and the results confirmed he died after being stabbed with a sharp object.
Another teenage boy who was also hospitalised following the incident remains in hospital where his condition is described as stable.
This afternoon search teams discovered two knives on waste ground near the Carrig Midhe estate and they have been sent for forensic analysis.
The detention period has been extended in relation to a sixteen-year-old boy who was arrested a number of hours after the killing. He is being quetioned at Mayorstone Garda station.
Meanwhile, detectives say they are anxious to speak with another teenager from Limerick city who may be able to assist them in relation to the killing.
"We are anxious to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time, especially taxi drivers, who may have been working," said a Garda Spokesman.
