HUNDREDS of cab drivers across Limerick will from nine o'clock this Wednesday, morning picket taxi ranks across the city.
They are angry about a number of things, including the issue of new taxi licences to part time drivers, a massive rise in the cost of getting a taxi plate, new rules stating taxis should be under nine years of age.

All of these things are, they say, causing a massive decline in their income. Up to 100 taxi drivers this Tuesday afternoon staged a demonstration in Pery Square where they decided on the action.

A further taxi drivers meeting will be held tomorrow night at 8pm in the Glentworth Hotel.

For the full story, and pictures from today's demonstration, see tomorrow's Limerick Leader.
