Deirdre Cusack of Adare Farms, Ronan Kelly, head chef at the Clarion Hotel and Susan Ward, Fundraising Coordinator with Mid West Simon Community, discuss the upcoming pop-up restaurant for the homeless in the city

THE MILK Market will be turned into a restaurant for one night only this month to raise funds for the homeless in the city.

The Simon Community, which is raising awareness of homelessness across the country, will hold a special event in the market on Thursday, October 11 with the support of Limerick Hotels Association.

Chefs across the city are donating their time and skills for this worthy cause.

“Most are giving their time, talent, produce or services free of charge to enable Mid West Simon Community to continue to deliver services that support homeless people in Limerick,” said Susan Ward, fundraising co-ordinator with Mid West Simon Community, who reach out to people in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary.

“The collaboration has been amazing. I genuinely believe they deserve the same support from Limerick people as they are giving to the disadvantaged through our event,” she added.

The night begins at 6.45pm and dinner, a set menu, will be served by the general managers and service staff of the Limerick Hotels Association at 7.30pm in the ‘restaurant’. Music and entertainment will be provided.

Tickets are €60 each or €50 each for groups of four or more. Call 061-608980 to book.
