My Week..with Celia Holman Lee

IT'S official: 2009 is the year of the wedding! I've been fortunate enough to attend several weddings this year of close friends and each one has been magnificent.

So I had high hopes last weekend when I was invited to attend the wedding of one of my top models Frankie Woulfe to well-known Newcastle West man Michael (who is known as Patch) Hayes.

As you might know Michael's family are behind the town's successful boutique Ela Maria so I knew that the style would be top notch, but even I was overwhelmed by the glamour stakes. It was out of this world! If you had been dropped in the middle of the wedding reception last Friday, you'd have sworn you were at a Hollywood a-list party. The Hayes ladies including Molly Aoife and Elaine looked sensational as did Frankie's glamorous sister Marie.

The ceremony itself in Kilcolman Church was beautiful and the bride was resplendant in a breathtaking Elie Saab wedding gown. Then it was on to the Courtenay Lodge Hotel which had been transformed into a fairytale wedding venue by Aoife Hayes.

A wonderful day and night was had by all. The newlyweds are currently enjoying their honeymoon in Italy, I wish them every happiness in their future.

*The resiliance of local businesspeople in the current climate never ceases to amaze me. Pat O'Sullivan is one of these people who is never afraid to take a risk, and this week opened his latest Cafe Noir restuarant at Park Point on the Dublin Road. Pat opened his first Cafe Noir on Robert Street some time ago and it has been a huge success I'm happy to report. There is a lovely ambiance in the Castletroy restaurant and the menu offers a wide selection of mouthwatering delights. I wish Pat and his team the very best of luck!

*I have always been a fan of Phil Lynott, and so when I was in Dublin recently I made sure to make room in my schedule for an hour so that I could go to the Phil Lynott 60th Birthday tribute exhibition at The Green Gallery. The exhibition, which finished last week, featured a selection of fine art paintings of the singer and limited edition signed prints. Phil's mother Philomena also lent some memorabilia to the event, which sent chills up my spine. He was an amazing musician and did us proud in Ireland.

*Next week, I will have all of the gossip from the divine Italian wedding of top model Michelle Meaney and former county hurler and one of the Limerick Chronicle's Sexiest men Shane O'Neill!
