My Week..with Celia Holman Lee

THIS week I am thoroughtly enjoying the glitz and glamour of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

The Rose Ball at the Topaz Dome on Saturday night was a memorable occasion, as the festival marks its 50th anniversary this year all of the 50 Roses crowned since 1959 were invited to attend.

It was a spine-tingling moment when all of the previous Roses stood up and took a bow.

Dashing Ryan Tubridy told me he is really looking forward to beginning his stint on the Late Late Show, and he was accompanied by his beautiful girlfriend (and former Rose of Tralee) Aoibheann Ni Shuilleabhain who looked like a Hollywood star in a silk yellow gown with diamante detail.

I wore a black knit dress by the wonderful Limerick-based designer Caroline Mitchell, which attracted many compliments.

Also in attendance was former Rose of Tralee host Gay Byrne with his wife Kathleen Watkins. I also spotted host Ray D'arcy, members of the judging panel Mary Kennedy and Adi Roche (who was wearing a Marion Murphy Cooney creation) the handsome Daithi O Se and MEP Sean Kelly.

As usual, the agency organised the magnificent Rose of Tralee Fashion Show in the Dome. The event attracted a massive crowd of 1,800 on Sunday night and showcased style from local stores including Bella Sola, Gretta Gibbs and Melie-b. I was very proud of the results and I want to congratulate my girls who did a fantastic job.

I'll have more gossip and style from the Rose of Tralee festival next week!
