My Week..with Celia Holman Lee

IT'LL be lights, camera, action.. and Roses this weekend as the agency takes part in the biggest fashion show of the year in Tralee!

The Rose of Tralee fashion show is always a huge deal but this year will be extra special as we mark the 50th anniversary of the festival. We have been preparing for this showstopping extravaganza for months now, and I can promise that the Dome's audience are in for a big treat!

We'll have fashion from boutiques all over the mid-west and beyond, with a few surprises.

If you fancy making a trip to the Kingdom this weekend, the Rose of Tralee fashion show will take place in the Topaz Dome on Sunday August 23 at 8pm. Tickets cost €30 and are available from www.roseoftralee.ie or 066-7121322.

*Limerick has got some amazing talent, take it from me! I witnessed some unbelievable performances at Limerick's Got Talent on Friday night in Punches Hotel. I was on the judging panel with SPIN SouthWest's Michelle McMahon, Caitriona Tierney, deputy mayor Tom Shortt and the lovely Leanne Moore. We were bowled over by the quality of the 16 finalists, who had been whittled down from over 60 performers in a series of local heats. Classical vocalist Sarah Shine sent shivers down my spine with her rendition of Time to Say Goodbye— that girl is going places, watch this space! And little Kaid Britton from Curraghchase wowed us with his Jacko dance moves—a real little performer.

After much deliberation, we chose the amazing Animal Beats as the winners. Well done to Paul McCarthy, John McDonnell, Conor McCarthy and Daniel Clarke who are so accomplished for such a young band. I was at a party recently in Dublin where The Script were playing, they were brilliant of course, but I have to say Animal Beats gave the same level of energy on stage. Ones to watch! The boys will now have a music video recorded by award-winning film company BMB films, worth €1,500. Congrats!

*The fabulous team at The Bailey Bar on Patrick Street invited Miss Limerick Becky Costello, Miss Clare Sinead Hughes and Mr Ireland Kamal Ibrahim to a party last week to celebrate their new titles. We had a lovely evening - I must thank Sinead, Alan and all of the staff at The Bailey. It is a gem of a place; rich, sumptuous decor with a fantastic selection of wines and mouthwatering food. A real touch of class in Limerick.

*I want to finish by saying well done to our Limerick hurlers, they did their best on Sunday, but it just wasn't their day. Often when I have days where nothing goes right for me, and I know that I have done everything to the best of my ability, I don't feel too bad because I have given it 100 per cent. Roll on next year!
