My Week..with Celia Holman Lee

THE whole country went racing mad last week!

I, like so many thousands of people, made the trip up the N18 to Ballybrit to savour the atmosphere at Galway Races' ladies day. As usual the style was out of this world, ladies didn't let the 'r' word affect them and it definitely was one of the better years for fashion in my opinion.

On entering the Anthony Ryan tent, I was immediately greeted by Mary Therese McDonnell, winner of the best dressed lady competition and Sinead Purcell who was named winner in the best hat competition.

Also looking glam were Limerick sisters Mamie and and newlywed Eva Hayes. It was a fantastic day out and really got me excited about my newest venture: a beautiful horse High Heels n Handbags.

*Yes, you read correctly: I am part of the Here Come The Girls syndicate, and we are now the proud owners of High Heels n Handbags. As you can see from this photo, she is a natural in front of a camera!

We have acclaimed Michael P Hourigan training the horse and we are hoping to launch her on to the racing scene in Listowel this September. The syndicate includes: yours truly, Sinead Devane of Sinead's Boutique, Annacotty, Elaine Cronan of Serendipity, Kay Mulcaire, Isobel Boutique,Lisa Wallace The Shoe Room Marie Hoare of Fairyland Creche and Kelly Keane of The K Boutique.

This is a very unique venture and the first time a syndicate has been purely comprised of women! We hope to have lots of winnings: a percentage of which will go to a cause close to every woman's heart: Mid West Breast Cancer care.

Chat to you next week!
