THE Locke Bar and and Oyster House restaurant are to throw a huge party this Thursday to celebrate their status as Ireland’s Best Tourist Bar - and they want everyone to attend.

The bar was awarded the accolade at last year’s Licensing World Bar Awards 2011 at a glitzy award ceremony in the Four Seasons in Dublin, beating four other popular premises in the process.

Now, to celebrate the award and in an effort to “cast off the winter blues”, the George’s Quay pub and hostelry are hosting a “huge Irish themed party” this Thursday.

“To mark the occasion and kick start the new year we at the Locke are inviting Limerick people and tourists alike to come and help us celebrate, with a night that will showcase the best of Irish, which was exactly why the Locke was awarded the prestigious honour at the awards last year,” said owner Richard Costello.

A great night of free entertainment is promised, with Irish tapas - created by the Locke’s award winning Chef Ross Kelly - and a wide selection of Irish craft beers from micro breweries all over Ireland available for sampling.

There is also a fantastic lineup of Irish music and Irish dancing in place for those that attend.
